Flyback time is commonly associated with rectangular scan patterns and often described in metadata from vendors as such. A typical geometrical primitive for rectangular scans are lines. Flyback time may be considered a specific instance of wait time, however some instruments might still be able to acquire data during flyback time which is why it is defined separately in this artefact.
